AutoCAD is the most commonly used CAD software in Australia and in many other parts of the world. Our AutoCAD course will explore the basic commands of the AutoCAD software package and help give you an understanding of the concepts and methods of drafting. Textbooks are supplied with level 1 Textbook used is Introduction to AutoCAD 2017


Requirements

    • USB memory device (2GB minimum)
    • Pen and notebook
    • Basic computer skills are essential
    • There are no prerequisites for this course
    • Please note this course teaches the general use of the software which can be applied to a wide range of design and drafting disciplines

Outcomes

    • Be introduced to computerised drafting - types of software and applications, files and compatibility
    • Become familiar with the AutoCAD screen layout
    • Develop skills for editing text styles, and begin title block excercie
    • Gain knowledge in setting up AutoCAD for printing
    • Gain knowledge in setting up AutoCAD for printing
    • Become familiar with AutoCAD processes and use of mouse function keys
    • Cover topics including 2D drawing, dimensioning, hatching and block creation Understand drawing setups and fundamental AutoCAD commands
    • Gain competency scaling model space and paper space and learn setting pens and plotting using the program
    • Complete a minor drawing using AutoCAD
