Expand your business into international markets by learning the 'ins' and 'outs' of the import and export trade. Topics include; documentation, incoterms, payments, risk management, responsibilities and general planning principles. This course is ideal for potential and existing exporters and importers, as well as marketing, shipping and clerical personnel.

Outcomes

    • Become familiar with the standard documents involved in an Export / Import transaction, including the four main categories of commercial, statutory, transport and buyers specification
    • Gain an appreciation of the inclusion of a Contract of Sale in an Export / Import transaction, including its position within the framework
    • Gain a basic understanding of the main delivery terms of trade (Incoterms 2010), including the responsibilities, costs and risks of both parties
    • Become familiar with the basic differences and procedures of the methods of payment available to Exporters and Importers, including banking documentation applicable to those methods
