Keen musician? Up and coming producer? Emerging songwriter? Modern digital audio workstations (DAWs) all do similar things. Introduce yourself to a simple DAW that could let you record or produce your own song within minutes. Learn how to create and produce digital music recordings using Apple MAC computers and (free) Garageband software at home. Discover how to apply basic music production principles. Use modern music making techniques to realise, record and mix your own songs or music. (Includes optional free additional online content and resources)


Requirements

    • Your own iPad (minimum: Air, Mini 2, 2017, Pro) and headphones (microphone optional)
    • There are no prerequisites for this course

Outcomes

    • Learn to use Apple's Garageband software on a MAC computer
    • Understand how to record and work with different types of audio instruments and effects in a digital workspace.
    • Learn how to isolate and separate the different sounds in your mix.
    • Understand the fundamentals of music production in the context of a simple modern DAW.
