The Certificate III in Tourism (travel agency stream) will give you the minimum skills and knowledge needed to begin your career in travel and tourism, a fast-growing, dynamic industry.

You will study enticing destinations and impressive travel products, and learn to provide exceptional customer service.

Our 10-month daytime course is designed to fit into a busy lifestyle, with on-campus classes held twice a week 9:30am – 4:00pm.

You’ll study in Holmesglen's simulated tourism office, which showcases the latest industry software so you can complete your studies in live airline reservations, fares and ticketing using the industry system Amadeus.

This is a Free TAFE course 

Students who are eligible for Victorian Government subsidised training may not have to pay course tuition fees when they enrol in a Free TAFE course.

Course structure

Timetable:
Classes run Thursdays and Fridays 9.30am - 4pm

To receive this qualification, you must complete four core units and 11 elective units.

Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry to best prepare you for a role in a travel agency.

If you have already completed other eligible elective units, these may be counted towards completion of this course.

ASSESSMENT

Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.

Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.

These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. Outcomes

QUALIFICATION AND RECOGNITION

On completion you will receive the Certificate III in Tourism.

PATHWAYS

Graduates can go on to study the Certificate IV in Travel and Tourism.
