The Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management will allow you to apply practical managerial skills in the hospitality industry. You will learn to operate with significant independence and will gain further knowledge in business and management strategies.
Holmesglen’s balanced delivery of practical and theoretical training will allow you to apply your skills
in our fully equipped facilities, including Holmesglen’s student training restaurants. You will also receive a range of industry placement opportunities.
To receive this qualification, you must complete 16 core units and 17 elective units.
Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications.
If you have already completed other eligible elective units, these may be counted towards completion of this course.
Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards

Establish and conduct business relationships
Develop and implement a business plan
Monitor staff performance
Develop and implement marketing strategies
Establish and maintain a work health and safety system
Good passes at Year 11 level or the overseas equivalent plus relevant employment experience
English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (Academic) with no individual bandscore
less than 5.5.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. QUALIFICATION AND RECOGNITION
After completing this course, you will receive the nationally endorsed SIT60316 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality.
On satisfactory completion of the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management, students may continue to complete Holmesglen’s BHM16 Bachelor of Hospitality Management with 1.5 years’ advanced standing.
