The dual Diploma of Event Management and Certificate III in Live Production and Services has been developed with a strong focus on industry placements at festivals and stadium productions.

You will work very closely with industry experts to gain the skills and knowledge you need to create, develop and stage special events while managing your team in an efficient and productive manner.

With events, it's all about the hands-on, practical experience and Holmesglen's events department is a recent winner of the 'Best Education/Training Program' at the Australian Event Awards and the Victorian Training Awards.

Our students are tasked with the production of the Victorian State Schools Spectacular, held annually at Hisense Arena, as well as large scale cultural events, including:

- White Night Festival,
- Melbourne International Comedy Festival,
- Christmas Festival of Lights,
- Adelaide Fringe Festival,
- Melbourne Cup Carnival.

You may also get the opportunity to work on delivering major community festivals with local government partners and get backstage access to various sites through a number of local, and interstate events. There are also opportunities for international travel throughout your studies.

With the integrated Certificate III in Live Production and Services, this course ensures you have the creative production skills that are a vital addition to an event professional's skills base.

After successful completion of the course, you will have developed the contacts and obtained the valuable experience that can open the doors to a successful career in event management. Holmesglen graduates have gone on to work for events such as the St Kilda Festival, Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, Australian Open, Melbourne Cup Carnival, White Night, major music festivals, business conferences and venues

Professional program
There is also an evening classes program of this dual Diploma of Event Management/Certificate III in Live Production and Services, designed for mature-aged students with some previous experience in the events or a related industry or demonstrated skills gained through employment.

It is run as an intensive night program and requires off campus learning and may involve some weekend participation.

I still remain in contact with all of my teachers from Holmesglen. They continue to be a great source of advice, direction and encouragement. The learning doesn’t end when you get your Diploma and at Holmesglen neither does the support.

Lisa Van Der Poel, Diploma of Event Management/Cert III Live Production Services graduate

“The learning was real, hands on and 100% relevant to the current events industry. There is so much you can learn in the classroom and from study material, but nothing beats implementing that on the ground and being part of the team running an actual event. Holmesglen offered both in perfect balance.”
