Holmesglen Vocational College offers a six-month VCAL Senior program for 17-19 year old’s, focused on developing employability skills in a supported vocational setting by using hands-on learning.

Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.
Preferred candidates will have completed either year 11 VCE or VCAL intermediate (at Holmesglen or an alternative recognised provider).
Any student entering the VCAL Senior Fast Track program must provide a minimum of 3 VCAL credits, including Industry Specific Skills credits prior to enrolment.
In the unlikely evet that you are under the age of 17, you must have a completed Transition from School Form, authorised by your previous school principal. This is a requirement under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.
This will assist with determining your suitability for this course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs you may have.
Recognition of prior learning
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. Qualification and recognition
VCAL Senior is recognised in Victoria as evidence of completion of secondary education (year 12). Upon successful completion students will also have completed several units of competency from their chosen industry specific streams or course, which students may gain credit for if pursuing further study in the same industry
