General Education Courses

The Certificate I in General Education for Adults, Switch program, is a re-engagement program for 15- to 16-year-old students who are looking to thrive in a different learning environment to that of traditional schooling. Each student attends Holmesglen for four days per week and has the opportunity to complete the Certificate I in General Education for Adults.

Are you 16-19 years old? Do you need support with your learning and/or social skills? Did you attend a specialist school or have support from a teacher's aide in class? This course gives you the opportunity to take part in a range of subjects that focus on the skills you need at work and in everyday life.

Are you 16–22 years old? Do you need support with your learning and/or social skills? Did you attend a specialist school or have assistance from a teacher's aide in class? The Certificate I in Work Education will help you learn the skills you will need to be successful at work.

The Certificate II in Work Education prepares young people with complex learning needs for participation in the workforce.

In the Course in Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy you will complete tasks that will help improve your foundation literacy and numeracy skills, while engaging in creative electives and vocational tasters.

The Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) course at Holmesglen is designed for 16-19 year olds looking to boost their work and life skills. The program provides a comprehensive learning experience with a focus on work skills, literacy, numeracy, personal development and industry-specific training.
