Studying the Course in EAL at Holmesglen

If you are an eligible Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) client, you could access up to 510 hours of English tuition within the first five years of your arrival without paying any course fees.

Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.
There are no formal entry requirements but you should be from a non-English speaking background and over 18 years old.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.
These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
Applicants are placed in the appropriate English course based on an interview and English language assessment.

Connections with industry
Holmesglen English Language Centre is working with Melbourne AMEP to deliver English programs to AMEP clients in the inner metro Melbourne region.
The Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) is funded by the Australia Government Department of Home Affairs. The program assists migrants and humanitarian entrants develop the English they need to settle successfully and participate socially and economically in Australian life.
