Studying the Course in EAL at Holmesglen

You'll improve your ability to participate in short conversations and follow familiar directions, understand the simple information that you read and listen to, write basic messages and complete forms, engage with digital media to perform simple everyday tasks and more.. You will learn the skills required to interact in simple contexts of your daily life. <p>This course is free for eligible Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) clients.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but you should be from a non-English speaking background and over 18 years old.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.<p>These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.<p>Applicants are placed in the appropriate English course based on an interview and English language assessment.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
