Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.
There are no formal entry requirements but you should be from a non-English speaking background and over 18 years old
Entry into the Course in Initial EAL will be determined according to your current English language skills - an initial assessment will be conducted.
Recognition of prior learning
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. On completion, you will receive 22485VIC Certificate in EAL (Access).
Connections with industry
Holmesglen English Language Centre works with Melbourne AMEP to deliver English programs to AMEP clients in the inner metro Melbourne region.
The Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) is funded by the Australia Government Department of Home Affairs. The program assists migrants and humanitarian entrants develop the English they need to settle successfully and participate socially and economically in Australian life.
