Holmesglen’s new General English program is a great way to learn English while building your confidence, discovering Melbourne and developing job-ready skills in the process. Open to temporary visa holders only - tourist visa, working holiday visa or student visa.
Studying the ELICOS - General English at Holmesglen
• Interactive classes to improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills
• Morning timetable - Monday to Thursday | 9am - 2.30pm
• 20 hours per week
• Opportunity to be immersed in experiences within other Holmesglen’s departments
• Weekly social activities and excursions.

Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.
No minimum English entry level required.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
Applicants are placed in the appropriate English course, based on an interview and English language assessment.
Qualification and recognition
On completion, you will receive a Certificate of Completion indicating the level of competency achieved.
