The Certificate IV in Education Support will give you the skills to work in a range of education and school settings that provide assistance and support to teachers to facilitate students learning under broad based supervision.

The course will suit those working or intending to work in education support areas, including early childhood education, primary and secondary schools, vocational and higher education and community education.

Your learning is complemented by 100 hours of industry placement in an educational workplace throughout the duration of the course.

This is a Free TAFE course 

Students who are eligible for Victorian Government subsidised training may not have to pay course tuition fees when they enrol in a Free TAFE course.

Course structure

To receive this qualification you must complete 12 core units and five elective units.

Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications.

If you have already completed other eligible elective units, these may be counted towards completion of this program.

ASSESSMENT

Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.

Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. QUALIFICATION AND RECOGNITION

After completing this course, you will receive the nationally endorsed CHC40213 Certificate IV in Education Support.

At Holmesglen, we understand that everyone is an individual, with different learning styles and goals.
