If you're new to Australia or from a non-English speaking background, this Course in English as Another Language (EAL) will help you develop the knowledge and skills you need to live and communicate comfortably in Australia.

Offered on a full-time and part-time basis, you'll improve your ability to participate in conversations, understand the information that you read and listen to, write short messages and complete forms.

If you're an eligible Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) client, you could access up to 510 hours of English tuition within the first five years of your arrival without paying any course fees.


If you have already started developing your English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, take those skills even further with this Certificate I in EAL - English as an Additional Language.

You'll cover areas such as conversations, giving and listening to spoken information, reading and writing short messages, grammar, pronunciation and more.

In the Certificate III in EAL (Further Study), you'll develop your cultural understanding, cross-cultural communication and study expertise – so you can jump right into further study.

You'll cover areas such as presentations, language learning strategies and skills, research and prearation of academic texts.

After completing this course, you'll receive the nationally endorsed Certificate III in English as an Additional Language (Further Study). Better yet, you'll also be open to a wider range of courses.

Our English for ELICOS courses are designed for students from non-English speaking backgrounds from Beginner to Advanced levels.

These programs are tailored to develop students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening, preparing them for future employment opportunities or further studies.

The courses are delivered in three specific course streams:
General English, Further Study and Higher Education.


Holmesglen’s new English Plus program is a great way to learn English while building your confidence, discovering Melbourne and developing job-ready skills in the process.

Whether you want to to enhance your English for study, travel or work, Holmesglen’s flexible and engaging classes with highly qualified and experienced teachers will ensure you achieve the
fluency you need in a stimulating, student-centred learning environment.

Included in your English Plus program are a wide range of additional workshops and hands-on practical training activities to develop your confidence and employability while in Australia.

Only $200 per week, with 1 week free for every 5 weeks of study. That’s $1,000 for every 6 weeks.

• This program is for temporary visa holders only (tourist visa, working holiday visa or student visa).
• Students can start every Monday from 16 July
• Minimum enrolment: two weeks
• English delivered Mon-Thurs, 9am - 2.30pm at our St Kilda Road-City Campus
