Overview
The New Energy Technology Systems (Battery Storage Design & Installation) is designed for qualified unrestricted electrical licensees (Victorian ESV A-Grade Electricians) to gain the required training to install GC PV battery storage systems.

This course provides an opportunity to learn and gain specialist skills in battery storage design and battery storage installation, to meet the growth in the solar, wind and other renewable energy sectors.
This is a nationally accredited qualification developed by industry in response to the upcoming demand for residential solar battery installations by consumers.
On completion, you can continue to access information and updates so you stay up to date with on-going changes in the New Energy storage sector.
Course structure
The program is designed to deliver its outcomes through an intense package of face-to-face workshops and online training, as well as off-the-job projects. Training is predominately through online self-study, with a block of five days on campus with face-to-face training workshops.
Learners will be given access to online resources after enrolment to complete self-study reading and activities. During the online study weeks, learners will have access to online training and support.
Note: Any person who is required to install equipment that is fixed wired into an electrical installation must be licenced to practice in accordance with the requirements of the Victorian Electricity Safety Act 1998.

Assessment
Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.
Entry requirements
The course is intended for qualified A Grade electrical tradesperson for the installation of grid-connected new energy generating and storage systems.
Learners will need to present evidence of their qualification or current electrical licence, in addition to evidence of completing UEENEEK148A.

Outcomes
Qualification and recognition
Upon successful completion, learners will be eligible to apply to the Clean Energy Council (CEC) for battery storage accreditation as a designer and/or installer of renewable energy storage systems.
