Become a licensed plumber and expand your employment opportunities in the field. When you complete the Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services, you'll be able to work on a broad range of plumbing jobs.
You'll learn technical skills in areas such as gas fitting, water supply, sanitary fittings, roofing, drainage and mechanical processes.
Featuring Victorian Building Authority Licence competencies, these competencies are drawn from or based on the CPC40912 Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services and will provide you with training in the six licence areas of plumbing.
This is a Free TAFE course
Students who are eligible for Victorian Government subsidised training may not have to pay course tuition fees when they enrol in a Free TAFE course.

To successfully qualify for a plumbing licence you will need to complete the three core units, followed by the relevant unit(s) for the required plumbing licence.
For example, to achieve a gas licence you will need to complete the three core units plus the gas licence unit.
To also obtain a sanitary licence, you would need to complete the sanitary licence unit.
Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards

Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.
These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
Completion of a relevant trade qualification or equivalent.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. QUALIFICATION AND RECOGNITION
On completion of this course you will be eligible to sit the VBA (Victorian Building Authority) plumbing licensing exams hosted at our Chadstone campus.
A Statement of Attainment will be issued from Holmesglen for the relevant competency or competencies completed. Licence eligibility is carried out by VBA examiners once exam papers have been submitted.
On completion of this course, graduates may enrol in a number of industry specific courses and specialise in an area of interest to them.
