Studying the Certificate II in Plumbing (Pre-apprenticeship) at Holmesglen

During the course, you will gain experience using hand and power tools and learn a wide range of plumbing skills, including how to cut and penetrate building materials and structures and use and cut sheet metal.<p>This course opens up employment opportunities in the plumbing industry by providing the skills and knowledge you need before commencing an apprenticeship.<p>This is a VET Delivered to Secondary Students (previously VETiS) course and can only be completed as part of your VCE or VCE (VM) program.

Entry Requirements

Holmesglen requires learners must be enrolled as a VCE or VCE (VM) student at a Secondary School.<p>Students undertaking this program require digital literacy skills and the ability to:<br> • turn on a computer<br> • connect to the internet<br> • use a mouse, keyboard<br> • open and close a software application<br> • conduct a search in a web browser<br> • send and receive emails
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training, you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability for the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
Students will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when undertaking practical activities. Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
