Studying the Certificate III in Upholstery at Holmesglen
You will learn to perform upholstery including dismantling and reassembling furniture and selecting, cutting, sewing and fitting fabric and leather upholstery materials.
When you complete the course, you will be creating new masterpieces and have the skills to return old furniture to its former glory.
This accredited program is made up of 25 units that have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications. If you have already completed one or more of these units before, these may be counted towards the completion of this course.

Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.
As this is an apprenticeship delivery, all students must have an employer and a valid Apprenticeship Contract in place prior to commencement.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
Credit can be granted to this qualification by those who have completed:
• MSF20113 Certificate II in Furnishing
• MSF20313 Certificate III in Furniture making
Recognition of prior learning
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. Qualification and recognition
After completing this course, you will receive the nationally accredited MSF30713 Certificate III in Upholstery.
How to apply
A training contract must be completed by the employer and apprentice within the first two weeks of employment.
A representative from the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network will visit the workplace to complete the training contract with the employer and the apprentice.
