This course is designed to assist Electrician's Licence holders ( 'A' Grade Licence) to apply for a Registered Electrical Contractors Licence (REC) with Energy Safe Victoria. It is recommended that you contact Energy Safe Victoria to assess your suitability for a Registered Electrical Contractors Licence (REC).

Training covers a broad range of the business management skills and knowledge required to operate a contracting business within the electrical industry.
The course is offered part-time evenings on campus, and delivered over eight sessions, once per week.

Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.
Applicants must be a holder of a Electrician's Licence ('A' Grade Licence or Unrestricted Electrical Mechanics Licence
Or they must be the business partner of a licence holder; or the employee of a licence holder.
Holmesglen requires learners undertaking this course to be;
a qualified Electrician's (A Grade Licence or Unrestricted Electrical Mechanics Licence), or business partner of an Electrical licence holder, or an employee of an Electrical Licence holder, such as Business Supervisor.
Holmesglen advises learners to contact Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) to assess suitability for a Registered Electrical Contractors Licence (REC) before undertaking this course.
Holmesglen recommends all learners have a minimum of Year 11 level numeracy and literacy or successful completion of vocational certificate/s.
Qualification and recognition
After completing this course, you receive a Statement of Attainment.On completion, you can apply for the Registered Electrical Contractors Licence with Energy Safe Victoria (www.esv.gov.au).
Most students will go on to register their own electrical contracting business and carry out electrical work to the residential and commercial market.
