Overview
This Traffic Management skillset course introduces participants to interpreting and implementing a traffic management plan, as well as setting up traffic control equipment to ensure the safety of construction, workers and the general public.

Course structure
This accredited skillset is made up of two competency units:
RIIWHS205E covers the skills and knowledge required to Control Traffic with Stop-Slow Bat
Introduction to traffic management
- Types of signs, controlling traffic, incident reports and communications devices*
- Housekeeping, traffic guidance schemes and site paperwork*
RIIWHS302E covers skills and knowledge required to Implement Traffic Management Plans.
- Introduction to Implement Traffic Management*
- Signage, Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Guidance Schemes, risk assessment and hierarchy of control*
- Supervising site close-down and job reporting*

Assessment
Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.
Entry requirements
This free Construction Industry Skill Set is available to eligible applicants who wish to commence work in the construction industry.
To be eligible, you must be an Australian Citizens or Resident. You can enrol in three free Construction Industry Skill Sets. View the range of Construction Industry Skill Sets we offer .
Participants might be asked to complete a language and literacy test before being offered a place in the course.

Outcomes
Qualification and recognition
After completing the course, students will receive a Statement of Attainment and an Industry Skills Card issued by Holmesglen.
