Overview
The Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) Online has been designed to meet the needs of a building professional who coordinates the construction of a building, taking responsibility for the overall completion of the job, including selecting contractors, overseeing the work and its quality, and liaising with the client.

Assessment
Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.
Entry requirements
Mature aged, and have completed at least Year 11 Mathematics.
Please note: the employment outcomes of this course may require you to work outdoors, at heights or underground, and may need you to do physical work.
All applicants must have language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills of a suitable level to allow them to engage with the course materials and have a high probability of achieving the intended course outcomes. This should be assessed through the use of an LLN assessment tool at the application stage.
Students should have the following:
learning skills to critically evaluate the validity and reliability of information presented to them
communication skills to present technical and compliance information to different stakeholders in a variety of different formats
reading skills to interpret and comprehend complex information contained in NCC, standards, acts and regulations.
At least 3 years experience in the building and construction industry, such as:
building and construction trades
estimators
contract administrators
site supervisors
site managers
project managers

Recognition of prior learning
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. The qualification will support graduates in their application for Builders Registration with relevant State regulators.
