Studying the Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying at Holmesglen
While studying bricklaying and blocklaying at Holmesglen, you will receive hands-on training from industry experienced teachers. You will train in excellent training facilities, acknowledged as the best in Victoria, and gain practical experience on full scale projects.
Much of a bricklayer's work is straightforward, but often requires skill and judgement. You must understand working plans and specifications of buildings and be able to apply basic mathematical calculations, operate brick cutting machines and carry out repairs.
Bricklayers also do more complicated work, such as constructing arches and building fireplaces. These jobs require training, ability and experience.
Some of the benefits of being a bricklayer include that you can work anywhere, you will usually work outdoors, and the role is in demand.

There are on formal entry requirements.
Good passes at Year 11 level or the overseas equivalent and some relevant
employment experience would be an advantage.
English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (Academic) with no individual bandscore less than 5.5.
Recognition of prior learning
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. On completion, you will receive the CPC30111 Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying
