This Diploma of Screen and Media, short film stream, will give you the skills to specialise in film and television production, post-production and production management.
If you enjoy the production process and the practical skills of working with crews, camera and lighting, this course will provide you with a rich experience in hands-on film making.
You'll be guided through developing the practical skills and knowledge required to work successfully in the media industry.
The course covers a range of areas including production skills, camera, sound, lighting, editing, special effects, planning, script-writing and promotion.
After completing this course, you can work as a camera operator, sound recordist, editor, director, scriptwriter or special effects creator.
To receive this qualification you must complete three core units and 12 elective units.
Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications.
If you have already completed other eligible elective units, these may be counted towards completion of this program.
Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards

Perform primary and secondary colour correction
Good passes at Year 11 level or the overseas equivalent and preferably some relevant
English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (Academic).
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. QUALIFICATION AND RECOGNITION
After completing this course, you will receive the CUA51015 Diploma of Screen and Media.
Graduates who successfully complete this course can seek entry to the second year of Film and Television Degree programs at many universities.
