This Diploma of Screen and Media provides comprehensive training in a variety of animation techniques, including 2D illustration and computer animation, stop motion and claymation, and 3D animation.
The course will develop your animation skills and also provide you with training in animation software, lighting, camera and scanning equipment, to introduce you to industry level animation technologies and techniques.
To receive this qualification you must complete three core units and 12 elective units. Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications. If you have already completed other eligible elective units, these may be counted towards completion of this program.
Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards

Interpret and respond to a design brief
Create 3D digital animations
Create digital visual effects
Create 3D digital character animation
Design animation and digital visual effects
Investigate drawing materials and processes
Extend expertise in specialist creative fields
Manage technical art and rigging in 3-D animation
Good passes at Year 11 level or the overseas equivalent and preferably some relevant
English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.0 (Academic) with no individual bandscore
less than 6.0.
Students need to present a digital folio.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. QUALIFICATION AND RECOGNITION
After completing this course, you will receive the nationally endorsed CUA51015 Diploma of Screen and Media.
Graduates who successfully complete this course can seek entry to the second year of Film and Television Degree programs at many Universities.
