Holmesglen working with PwC on Higher Apprenticeship Program

Holmesglen is proud to be working with Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC) on delivering the Higher Apprenticeship Program to Victorian students. The program is an alternative pathway to the traditional graduate route, offering students an opportunity to earn a competitive salary while studying towards a professional qualification at the institute.

The new collaborative business program saw the first class of students commence at Holmesglen in September.

PwC's National Skills Lead Sara Caplan said the Higher Apprenticeship Program enables school leavers to enter one of Australia's leading professional services firms, gaining hands-on experience while completing a Diploma of Business through Holmesglen.

"The world of business is changing, which is why we launched the Higher Apprenticeship initiative," Ms Caplan said.

"This pioneering program provides students with real life coaching and career development alongside classroom support, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to meet the future needs of the business and giving them a flying start to their careers."

The program, which is open to those who have completed Year 12, is designed to combine customised classroom studies aligned to the PwC business, alongside real client engagement. Those selected by PwC will be offered a competitive salary as they work in PwC Assurance or Consulting businesses, while studying towards a Diploma of Business.

Holmesglen is pleased to contribute to the Higher Apprenticeship Program, by helping design highly engaging learning experiences, course material and assessments throughout the Diploma of Business.

Holmesglen's Head of Professional Workforce Solutions Simon Bruce said Holmesglen has designed a highly engaging learning experience which combines classroom training, off the job coaching and on the job assessment and observation.

"The structure of the program exposes the apprentices to different perspectives, enhances relationships with colleagues and team members and helps them establish a broad field of influence".
