Chadstone mural to connect community and engage learners
Students at our Chadstone campus have enjoyed a splash of colour at our building one lecture theatre.
The new mural (pictured above) was commissioned by the Institute and produced by local artist Robert Scholten.
The artwork was inspired by the chance to connect with our community and engage learners. The design pays homage to Melbourne, and features a collection of iconic native landmarks and attractions.
“By combining multiple representations of Melbourne, the mural shows the spirit of the city through the layered experience of each individual. The student experience of personal growth, living in Melbourne, and contributing their own uniqueness to the spirit of Melbourne, is a shared experience by all. Merging these ideas in a large-scale artwork with a physical space they regularly interact with creates a powerful statement that unites the community,” Robert said.
Robert also believes the mural will help provide an inclusive and motivating space for the Holmesglen community to enjoy.
“We created a piece of art that makes a lasting contribution to the community, a mural that many people will continue to interact with and hopefully be inspired.”
