Holmesglen has won the 2019 Victorian Training Awards in industry collaboration for our work with the Royal Children’s Hospital, and electrical apprentice Jake Carter has been named Apprentice of the Year. This is the third consecutive year Holmesglen has won the Industry Collaboration Award for its work with the RCH. The partnership was first created in April 2018 and blends Holmesglen’s Certificate I in Work Education students with full-time placements at the hospital. To find out more about the industry collaboration, see our partners page. A career change from finance saw Jake Carter come to Holmesglen at Futuretech to follow his electrotechnology interests. Jake finished his pre-apprenticeship with a readiness assessment of 100 per cent and completed his A-Grade exam on his first attempt, with results in the 90s. The award is a great testament to all of Jake's hard work. Read more about Jake's story, from electrical apprentice to business owner. Holmesglen is extremely honoured to be a winner at the Victorian Training Awards, which is the State’s showcase for the "best of the best" in the TAFE and training sector.
