Enrich young lives, study an early childhood education course

Early childhood educator

What does being an early childhood educator mean to you? It’s a question we sometimes ask our students to get them thinking about what they can achieve.

An early childhood education and care course is an opportunity to positively shape the lives of the younger generation. From educator to kindergarten or primary school teacher, there are many career opportunities to explore.

The CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care  and CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care are on the free TAFE list of courses*.

Let’s look at how a Holmesglen course can connect you to your dream career.

You will learn about healthy relationships

The relationship between children, parents and education professionals is important.

In the Certificate III, our students learn how to engage with young children and their families, facilitate children's leisure and play, and foster holistic development and wellbeing.

Our Diploma continues this learning by showing students how to develop, implement and evaluate early childhood education and care programs.

“Our programs are about providing specific tools that help young children love learning, something that will benefit them for the rest of their life,” says Holmesglen early childhood education teacher Mandy Kernick.

Hands-on learning will increase your development

Our courses mix classroom lessons with activities run in our practical rooms. These rooms are designed to simulate a real early childhood education working environment, giving you a window to your future workplace.

Early Childhood Education and Care diploma learners also benefit from a mandatory practical placement in a registered, education and care service.

Remember, being an early childhood educator also requires energy, enthusiasm and creativity

Educators need to have energy, enthusiasm and creativity every day. Through practical-based learning, our courses give students the skills to stimulate and develop children’s minds.

“There aren’t many jobs where you can have fun every day. [Early childhood education] is where you can dance, you can sing, you can be free. It is one of those rare jobs where you can let yourself be yourself,” says teacher Jo Dean.
